Materials system specification



Material

The material mixture consists of ¼ cup of H.A.C superior light soy sauce and ¼ cup of Woolworths extra virgin olive oil. To prepare the material mixture, mix both of the ¼ of cup of liquid materials within a separate cup prior to pouring on the plate. This is to ensure an adequate mixture combined in the same cup       

Substrate

The substrate within the experiment is 260mm diameter white glazed ikea ceramic plate with a 20mm inset. Pour ½ cup of water within the plate to ensure an even distribution across the plates surface. Ensure the plate is sitting on an adequate and level horizontal surface such as a table or benchtop. Having the plate and water level will help during the pouring stage

Technique/Tools

Techniques and tools used in the experiment are 2x 145mm tall and 75mm wide FIFA World cup edition (2010) MacDonald’s coca cola glass cups, as well as 1x 250mm tall kabab stick and 1x 80mm tall and 60mm wide Woolworths ice-cream waffle. A combination of these tools and Techniques will create an apparatus that can be used for an experiment      

Apparatus

First thing is to place it on a level bench top, then add ½ cup of water with an even distribution onto the plate. next step is to get the 2 coca cola glass ups and place them either side of the plate directly adjacent to each other, this will act as a stand for the next step. For the next step, grab a 250mm kabab stick and a Woolworth ice cream cone and begin to pierce the cone horizontally at the bottom until the stick whole goes all the way through, push the ice cream cone half way up the stick and then place the stick on each end of the lip of the cup with the top of the cone facing down towards the plate. Next is to get both ¼ cup of soy sauce and ¼ cup of olive oil and pour them both into another cup. Once that is ready you are ready to pour! Pour both materials onto the cone. watch it pour down the cone into the substrate to create a reaction
